Female Examination

Before treatment initiation women has to undergo gynecological examination, the hormonal profile has to be evaluated and must be performed tests for sexually transmitted diseases as well as the function of thyroid gland.

Gynecological examination is done by doctor who cares for patient’s treatment. It’s gynecological examination by speculas, by palpation and ultrasonography examination.

Determining the profile of sex hormones is very important for correct treatment planning. It is done by blood collection, which has to be collected in 2., 3. or 4. day of menstruation cycle. Hormones with relation to ovaries are being examined (FSH, LH, AMH, prolactin, testosterone, estradiol).

Thyroid gland disorder can significantly contribute to infertility. That is why we test its function as basic examination procedure. Examination is done by blood collection, which serves for determining values of TSH, free-T3, free-T4. If we have a suspicion for thyroid gland disorder, we examine presence of autoantibodies against thyroid gland.

From collected blood are as well tested sexually transmitted diseases.

For correct diagnose and following treatment selection, it is suitable to perform hysteroscopic examination and HyCoSy (hystero-salpingo-contrast-sonography). The most exact diagnose and following most suitable treatment can be selected after hysterolaparoscopy.

In some cases it is very appropriate to perform genetic examination.

That is chromosome examination by special techniques (Y chromosome analysis, Cystic Fibrosis Gene Examination). Abnormal finding could be one of the infertility causes could lead to treatment failure and often to recurrent miscarriages.

Immunological examination belongs to another important women’s fertility examination. Sperm, oocytes and embryo antibodies are being examined as well as antiphospholipid antibodies. In indicated cases (recurrent miscarriage, recurrent unsuccessful treatment) is performed cell immunity examination (NK cells).

In cases, when it is not possible to use own oocytes from various health reasons, it is possible to use donor oocytes from anonymous donors.

After examination is done, patient is informed about its outcome and suitable procedures for treatment are suggested.
